About the Artist
Where Creativity, Wellness & a Little Bit of Zen Come Together
My love for all things art and handmade began long before The Zenful Artist ever existed.
In high school, I discovered the joy of creating through art classes and jewelry making. In college, I explored even more creative mediums, taking classes in metalworking and ceramics. I loved the process of taking an idea and turning it into something tangible with my own two hands.
Then, somewhere along the way, I grew up.
I stopped making things just for the joy of making them and became what I thought an “adult” was supposed to be…busy, responsible, practical, and not necessarily very creative.
Fortunately, creativity has a way of finding you again.
In 2013, I became a licensed esthetician, and I found myself reconnecting with the creative side of who I had always been. Working with skincare, creating relaxing experiences, and helping people feel good in their own skin gave me a new creative outlet and eventually led me toward a deeper appreciation for wellness and self-care.
Then life took an unexpected turn.
I began experiencing increasing problems with a neurological condition called Hemifacial Spasms. Over the years, the condition became progressively worse, affecting not only my day-to-day life but also my stress levels, anxiety, and overall sense of wellbeing. Eventually, I needed brain surgery to correct the spasms.
As I prepared for surgery, I wanted to create the most comfortable recovery possible for myself. I started making reusable hot and cold packs filled with rice, using beautiful and fun fabrics that made something practical feel a little more personal.
It was a simple solution to a very personal problem.
And then something unexpected happened.
I fell in love with making them.
What began as a little pre-surgery project for myself grew into a full-blown handcrafted wellness collection. I began experimenting with different fabrics, scents, textures, and products designed to bring a little more comfort, relaxation, and joy into everyday life.
Today, The Zenful Artist is where my love of art, crafting, wellness, and beautiful things all come together.
From handmade reusable rice packs and aromatherapy products to jewelry, artwork, and other thoughtfully crafted goods, everything I create is inspired by the belief that the things we surround ourselves with can influence how we feel.
I believe wellness doesn’t always have to be complicated. Sometimes it’s a warm rice pack after a long day. A calming scent. A beautiful piece of art. A little ritual that gives you permission to slow down.
Sometimes, it’s simply making something with your own hands.
The Zenful Artist is my reminder that creativity isn’t something we outgrow. Sometimes, we just have to find our way back to it.
Thanks for being here—and welcome to my little corner of creativity, comfort, and zen.
