I have always been drawn to all things creative. My journey down the art path started with taking art & jewelry making classes in high school and then a sculpture class in college…then life got in the way and my time was swallowed up with the responsibilities of adult life.
Fast forward 20+ years, I found myself in a creative career as an esthetician, but always had that childhood desire to create art. Then Covid hit and my business was shut down for 6 weeks…I had nothing to do with my time but I needed to keep my hands and mind busy. So I went to the local art supply store, picked up some canvases and paints…and fell in love. I started with fluid acrylic pouring because of the simplicity of how the pieces come together. Each pour is a mystery, you just pick the colors and watch as the design creates itself.
I began to realize that every time I would start creating a piece, this incredible calm and happiness would come over me. I found myself getting lost in my pieces and painting would continue to be the thing I would turn to as a way to calm my mind. After fluid acrylics, I moved on to using acrylic inks. I love the versatility of this medium because the end result on canvas can range from super dreamy and meditative to ultra bold and dramatic.
At this point in my artistic journey, I am focusing on beach and desert themed pieces as well as working on expanding my abstract style with a sprinkling of other ideas as they pop into my head.
